Experimental principle
Co-immunoprecipitation (Co-Immunoprecipitation, CoIP) is a classic method for studying protein-protein interactions. It belongs to a class of immunoprecipitation techniques and is often used to identify unknown protein components in specific protein complexes.
The design concept of co-immunoprecipitation is to assume that a known protein is a member of a large protein complex, then by using specific antibodies to this protein, it is possible to "pull" the entire protein complex from the solution. (Often referred to as "pull-down"), which can then be used to identify other unknown members of this protein complex. The characteristics of co-immunoprecipitation can be summarized in two points, the first is the natural state, and the second is the protein complex.
